                                      My Proposed 10 Point
Congressional Reform for Accountability & Principles Act (CRAP Act) 

It’s no joke; because it is time “We the people” quit allowing our elected members of Congress to treat themselves like an elite, privileged class – at our expense.


They have created a political system in which they shamelessly and without accountability, reward themselves with huge pay, perks, and power. They too often use their power in corrupt, self-serving ways.  

I propose a simple solution. It’s time for an enema for this Congressional condition.
Serving in Congress is an honor, not a career. The Founding Fathers envisioned citizen legislators who serve one or two terms, then go home and back to work, and live under the laws they created.  

The Change we really need is the “People’s Act:”
“We the People” need to clean up our Congress, starting with all career politicians and re-establishing it away from government controlling the people to people controlling the government.

My Proposed 10 Point
Congressional Reform for Accountability & Principles Act
When elected, I commit to immediately introducing the
 “CRAP Act”  - That would stand for the
Congressional Reform for Accountability & Principles Act
 
1. Term Limits: total 18 years in Congress, using any options:
a. Three 6-year Senate terms;
b. Nine 2-year House terms, or
c. One 6-year Senate and six 2-year House terms, or
d. Two 6-year Senate and three 2-year House terms.
 
2.  No Tenure / No Pension:
    A congressman / senator only collects a salary while in office and receives no pay when they are out of office. 
There should be no incentive to perpetuate career politicians.
 
3.  Congress (present & future) participates in Social Security and any other program they force on the rest of us.
   
4. Move tax day from April 15 to November 1, or the day before Election Day.

5. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.  Congressional pay will only rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.

6. Congress loses their current, elite, privileged health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people. See how they like Obamacare then.

7. a. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people. No more exemptions for members of Congress or the Government for conduct, regulations and requirements they force on us.
b. House & Senate- At its beginning, ALL bills introduced must specify and cite justification as to the Constitutional section authorizing it. 
 
8. All former contracts with past and present congressmen are void effective April 15, next year.  The American people did not make these contracts with congressmen. Congress schemed all these contracts for themselves. Therefore we can void them.

9. All perks for congresspersons will be treated as income just like the rest of us get treated.

10. Except in years that the US is in a state of declared war (by Congress), no member of Congress shall receive any pay in any year in which they fail to balance the budget. No balanced budget, no pay.

I believe most Americans would agree that those elected should be subject to the same rules and laws as the rest of us. They are supposed to be public servants, not rulers.

The Act would solve a multitude of problems from balancing the budget (no more pork or earmarks) to eliminating member’s junkets and funding non-declared war actions.

Watch how fast they balance the budget when their salary is on the line. They would finally have an incentive to create a fair and simple tax system.
Social Security would get fixed fast too.

Now, some say this would have no chance of passing.
Maybe not at first, but I will introduce it every year to get all of them on record.

All willing to co-sponsor or vote for it will show themselves to be for people and principles. Those opposed – clearly about party and politics and power for themselves.

I say, those who oppose it should be the next elected OUT Of Office and replaced with men and women of character and principle.
